DESCRIPTION:(A course for Masters of Fine Arts students in the writing program of the School of the Art Institute.) Break away from living inside your head and studio\, and get out into the big wilds. Fascinating collisions of humans and nature serve as a spur to generating new work that may take the form of writing\, visual art\, video\, or some other medium. Together as a class\, we’ll take three field trips to urban natural areas; individually\, you will select and execute your own excursions. Meet near the parking lot a few hundred feet north of the intersection; there’s a small street called “Tonty” at the corner and a red sign that says “Bunker Hill.” \nOf note for bicycles: This is the southern most end of the 33-mile North Branch Bike Trail. If it’s a beautiful day\, consider bringing a bike.
